This is a listening skills book for elementary students based on topics and situations (recorded on an accompanying cassette) specially selected for their level. It aims to develop students' confidence to listen to and understand spoken English. The recorded material includes a variety of topics, conversations, stories, discussions and interviews. It includes a range of different accents and spoken styles to prepare students for the reality of contemporary English, together with graded tasks designed to focus listening and improve students ability to listen for different purposes. Each unit topic also includes a follow-up writing task.
