Warunki doskonalenia kompetencji przywódczych kierowników liniowych w polskich służbach policyjnych

The purpose of this dissertation is recognition and description of the effective methods for improving leadership competencies in Polish law-enforcement organization: Border Guard Service. The basis of undertaking research was the need to provide leadership, postulated by the officers of this service, with simultaneous, organizational limitations of its development conditions in the formation. The fundamental issue has become to find an answer to the question: how do leaders of this Polish police service improve their leadership competencies, despite the lack of support from the organization in this regard? To solve the problem, the ethnographies study was applied. This method allowed a deep exploration of the issue and the identification of the most important categories of description: the nature of leadership competencies, their importance for police organizations, and the possibilities of their improvement in the conditions of hierarchical organizations. A detailed description of the subject, which is characteristic for this test method, allows to get to know the specificity of the problem in detail, as well as provides the necessary context in which this problem should be considered.
